This is a summer spinach substitute, not a true spinach at all. Native to India, it is a warm season crop that offers delicious leaves that taste similar to spinach but are ready in the heat of the summer. It is a climbing vine with small green leaves with red veins. As you harvest it, cut the stems back and continue watering and feeding and it will keep producing. Try something new this year! 50-70 days from seed to harvest. Direct sow seeds after the soil has warmed up and after the danger of frost is over.
