This is another very unusual pepper, an Italian heirloom brought to this country by a MA immigrant. The pepper are round and deeply lobed. They ripen red and have a "sweet flavor with medium high heat" according to Seed Savers Exchange. Peppers are a warm season crop and must be started indoors in late March/early April. Don't even THINK about planting them outside until all danger of frost is over and the soil has warmed up.
