Grape hyacinths are an awesome perennial bulb. They bloom in late April and early May and naturalize easily. The leaves of this species appear in the fall. Do not panic! This is normal! A cool thing to do with grape hyacinths is to put one bulb in with every grouping of daffodils if you are trying to naturalize an area. That way, the following fall, the Muscari leaves will appear and you will know where you have already planted daffodils and can move to a new spot! Grape hyacinths are fragrant and are beloved by spring pollinators. They also make really nice little bouquets. A classic bulb that every garden should have.
