Have you ever grown mache? It is quite a wonderful green that comes to us from French gardners. This variety grows the biggest leaves and it more heat tolerant than others. Also called corn salad, mache can be eaten raw or cooked. I have seen it growing in high tunnels in extremely cold weather. Direct sow as soon as the ground can be worked and definitely plant as a fall crop. Anyone that knows this and has grown it asks for the seeds year after year. Try something new this year!
