These Chinese cucumbers are SO much fun to grow. They will reach 15 inches long at maturity, which is 60 days from sowing seed to picking fruit. We recommend that you direct sow the seeds when danger of frost is over. Cover the emerging seedlings with floating row covers and leave them on until the plants flower. This is SO important to prevent striped cucumber beetle damage, a destructive pest that spread cucumber wilt. Once the plants start to flower, remove the row covers. Cucumbers love lots of water. Feeding them often will help prolong the harvests. Plant cucumbers repeatedly until mid-July for continued harvests.
