Giant Autumn Crocus
Colchicum autumnale 'Album'
A white giant Colchicum! Flowers appear in September and last into October once the clump has been established. The flowers come up without any leaves. Try planting them where they can come up through a low, interesting foliage. They are SO MUCH FUN to grow! Note where they are planted because in the spring, the leaves appear. They are big and broad and you must leave them and let them grow until they turn yellow in order to feed the bulb. Colchicums are vole and deer proof.
Easy to grow in moist, well-drained soil in either full or partial sun.
