Borage is an annual herb with beautiful flowers of clear blue. The leaves smell like cucumbers when crushed and the flowers TASTE like cucumbers! They are one of the best edible flowers you can grow. Sow borage seeds in the garden in early May. When they flower in early summer, let them go to seed. Then, harvest the seed and move it to a new spot. A second crop of borage will grow and bloom in early fall. Borage is classified as an annual but it is a great reseeder. Once you have it, as long as you can recognize the baby leaves, you will always have it!
