Exciting News from Nancy

March 16, 2021

 Dear Friends,

I am writing to share with you some very exciting news. As of the end of January 2021, I have sold Natureworks to a group of my employees. The controlling share is owned by Jaime Vestergaard, who has been with Natureworks for over a decade along with Kyle Elmer and John Davern. Jaime is the person to reach out to if you have any questions, concerns, or issues. This has been in the works for quite a few years. I chose to do this for a few reasons. I have been trying to slow down for quite a while. As I get older, I want to spend much more time with my husband and at home, tending my own gardens. I also hope to travel a bit more, visiting gardens, of course!

My primary goal when choosing who to potentially sell the business to was to keep the heart and soul of the business the same. This group of employees is deeply committed to organics and to the core values that makes Natureworks so special. They are young, energetic, and very enthusiastic.

What does this mean for you, our valued Natureworks customer?  With our new employee owners and our staff of dedicated, wonderful, returning employees, you may not notice much of a change. I will continue to do the jobs I love the most such as writing our emails, handouts, and descriptions for the website. Education has always been a large focus at Natureworks and that will continue. When Covid ends, I am looking forward to doing some classes and garden walks in person at Natureworks again. Our two talented designers, Susan Sternberg and Leslie Martino, will be doing the majority of the consultation and design work. Rebecca Holley will continue to run the landscaping office.

I am still involved in many ways at Natureworks and ask you to join me in supporting our new owners Jaime, Kyle, and John. This is such an exciting new chapter in the story of this business that I began back in 1983, 38 years ago. Not only do the new owners, with the help of the talented and creative Natureworks staff, bring new ideas and fresh, young energy to this business, they are hoping to eventually move nearby to a quieter location with a bit more land and a bigger parking lot. I couldn’t be happier and feel truly blessed to see this transition come to fruition. I will continue on at Natureworks as part of the Board of Directors and the Board of Operations.

I know you will do all that you can to support the new owners and bring Natureworks forward into the future. I am so proud of all we have done together and am very much looking forward to the future as this very special business evolves and continues to grow.

Sincerely yours,

Nancy DuBrule-Clemente, Founder, Natureworks
